In this thread I wanna discuss the sales of PS3 and PS2 because surprisingly they're up 0.9M YoY and its something noteworthy to be discussed.
Sony FY Q4 2011
PS2 0.6M
PS3 1.9M
=2.5M
Sony FY Q4 2012
PS3+PS2 3.4M
They're up YoY by 0.9M, how did this happen?
My own prediction was something like 1.6M for both consoles
i was surprised myself. sony must be selling alot of PS3's.
It really is WTF worthy. No clue of what might have happened. Isn't it a record 4th quarter too?

That surprised me too... I expected 1.9m combined.
Playstation Plus, low price, a lot of AAA exclusives. This is the answer.

Nope.
Q4 FY2009: 3.9m
Q4 FY2007: 4.6m
Q4 FY2006: 4.2m
The others years were lower than 3.4m.
whats the split for PS3/PS2? anyone know?

How many big production quarters PS2 will have?
PS3 is selling really good.
There is a reason why Sony don't show the numbers separated. They are phazing out production of PS2 becaus in the long run it's to expensive but they want to produce enough for the long period of time for the emerging markets where it's syill popular and will sell for a longer time.
