I remember someone suggesting the possibility of Retro working on the new Mario Kart. This better not be the case. A sequel to DK 64 would be fantastic, but I know most people want a new Metroid Prime game. I should get around to playing those.

I never heard that.

You sure your not mixing that up when helped with the Donkey Kong related assests and retro courses in Mario Kart 7?

Here's the thread I was referring to. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=157157&page=1

It's only speculation and it seems unlikely, but it would really suck if it turned out true.

So much hype. SO MUCH HYPE! If it isn't a Metroid Prime then a lot of people might be disappointed. I'll be pleased with anything they give me

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.

My gut tells me it's a new Metroid. I would prfer they make a DKC game and a Metroid. DKC game first :P

Considering they already announced Mario Kart and Retro has been making big hires in the way of character design and environment art, including stuff like this: http://beastofoblivion.deviantart.com/art/Celestial-Dragon-259088812 , I sincerely doubt they are working on Mario Kart. I believe the small Retro tream was brought in for MK7 to meet crunch deadlines so the main (small) team could focus on the meat of the game.

There needs to be a new option on the poll, "I don't care what it is, JUST GIMME!"

And whoever said that they better not be using "Pikmin Time" on this, meaning taking forever when they say soon, that isn't likely. The game was supposed to be shown at last year's E3 but it was pulled at the last minute which is why we got the Batman demo and NintendoLand out the ass. It will be shown in the big E3 Wii U Direct...it might even get its own, which would be sweet.

Yes, not the kind of generic mature where you just have people cussing and blood everywhere, but a title that have a mature setting. Something similar to Fire Emblem Awakening or Starfox Assualt

I hope it's Starfox (one where he stays in his goddamn ship) or a new IP.
The Prime games were great, but we've already had three of them, I want to see Retro try their hand at something new.

Whatever it ends up being, I'm excited; Retro are one of the best developers on the planet, and they've never made a bad game yet. Prime 1 & 3 and DKCR were amazing, and a Wii U game of that caliber would be a dream come true.

It could be anything really. Some things worth noting are:
-Retro is fairly large now, with over 100 staff.
-a lot of the New staff have AAA experience with companies such as Naughty Dog.
-the game's been in development for 3 years now.
-production on DKCR and Other M wrapped at about the same time.

I think the game will be big, will be shown at e3, will release within 12 months, and the frontrunner IP is Metroid.

I'm cautiously optimistic considering how much of Retro has gone to Armature Studios and other places like Halo, id Software, and Killzone. Really hoping they finally convince me to get a Wii U though.

On the flipside, folks from places like Naughty Dog have come to Retro.

Talent flow is just more fluid amongst Western studios

On topic: the trouble with a Metroid game is that Nintendo needs Retro pushing a real, system-selling killer app. Much as i love Metroid, it's not that.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I hope will be a new Metroid game, Other M was fucking awful.

Reboot starfox *crossfinger*

Screw E3 just show us now, Retro you have no idea how popular your company is, the buzz will travel just show us.

Is it the long rumor Banjo Kazooie, Starfox X Metroid, Reboot StarFox Unite WHAT!!! OwO''''
