Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Adam Sessler responds to Nintendo not having a large press conference at E3

I don't want to offend any fan but IMO Nintendo is better off developing all their games on 3DS instead I would buy one knowing more great nintendo games will come and faster too

I honestly think Nintendo is downplaying it's E3 conference so when the actual conference occurs it blows everyone away both literally and figuratively.

If not than I agree with what Kaz Hirai's parody twitter account had to say about Nintendo's E3 conference:

https://mobile.twitter.com/KazHiraiCEO

They are going to be Capcom for the year.

So they are starting to behave like a third party company in e3.

Ironically, yes. I move to fire Iwata, but thats just me.

I don't know, that seems a little extreme to me. Maybe they should take his presidency away but to actually set him on fire, that's just too cruel.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

So no show at E3? The future of Nintendo looks grim.

I can see how stories get so totally blown out of proportion. Nintendo say they're going to change up the way they present at e3 and focus on smaller presentations that are aimed to individual stakeholders, rather than have one large boring presentation aimed at everyone. Because of this you think the future of Nintendo looks grim?

Let me paint a picture for you.

Wrestlemania's main event turns into a one on one match because one main eventer in the arranged triple threat match dodged the main event to fight a lesser opponent.

Get it?

I get that you think selling consoles is equivalent to a wrestling match. Heads up, it's not.

And you have no evidence that the way Nintendo are going to present at E3 this year won't turn out to be a more effective method of getting the message out to consumers and the media.

I can't wait for the E3 Nintendo Direct, I honestly don't see a big difference between a stream of the ND and a stream of a presentation - the ND will cut the useless crap, though.

One reaches a broad audience and goes for wow factor to show your offerings vs the competition in front of the media and fans alike and the other...well..is just like having a private conversation with the fans and no one else. The gaming media will respond to it and that will be the end of it. It wont get out to the wider world.

This is a great comparison because 99% of the people who watch TV don't even know what is the WWE.

I'm sure Nintendo has something big to show or at least something kind of big. It could be a possibility they don't want to share the spotlight with Sony and Microsoft since all eyes will be on the two new consoles. So they would rather hold a separate conference to show off games, but it is also possible that they have nothing to show they perhaps could be a year away from releasing those big name games.

Nintendo knows they're going to get stomped. Sony hasnt finished showing off their guns and Microsoft will definitely impress the American audience without a doubt with their tech and multimedia uses. The buzz is rising to levels Nintendo themselves hasnt even seen yet before the Wii U came out.

So both consoles will sell faster than the Wii? That's a very big call.

The Wii is a rarity, because it was a console that gained the majority its buzz outside of the gaming world. It opened up a market of people who generally wouldnt game and gave them a momentary pleasure. With the Playstation and Xbox people are getting with every gen a console they can get more utility out of and this is why these multimedia/gaming consoles sell steadily and people wait to see what the next version will be like. I never stated they would do Wii Numbers, but thats nothing Sony's never surpassed anyway not to mention with a healthier gaming audience. Its Microsoft who has to prove they can pass those sales. Anyway, I think Nintendo is saving themselves the embarassment because I think their 2013 development cycle is working out as they would've hoped.

If you think this way then what will you say when next year Nintendo actually decides to make a full, normal e3 presentation?

That once again they've decided to change up the way they present at e3? You're pulling a very long bow if you're trying to make out this has anything to do with the end of Nintendo.

That's not as easy. I am not saying this is the end, actually I said they could make a big presentation next year, didn't I? You said they are changing the way they present at e3, and it won't be the case if next year they go back to how they handled things. If next year they go full regalia, then it was proof that they made this years' presentation fit for their current circumstances and possibly as a response to the strength of what the rivals had for showing.

Yes, I do have proof that Nintendo Direct doesnt meant shit. Look at their Youtube hits....which are not impressive at all. I know children who have more hits.

Repeated comment for fucking lame connection problems. Lame.

Totally agree with you there, but that's the smart thing to do isn't it? Provide the best E3 showing that fits the current needs. No point doing a large boring show that will be overshadowed by the other two. Better to have small shows focussed on the games.

Sorry, I thought you were the person I originally quoted who claimed the future looks grim.
