Today was the big game in England between Chelsea and Liverpool, bitter rivals.

Chelsea was up by one when at the 74th minute Luiz Suarez strikes back to the media by biting Ivanovic's arm.

This isn't the first time Suarez has been in a controversy, as he has been found to be making racist comments to Manchester United's defender Patrice Evra, whilst also not shaking his hand because he's black.

It is a disgrace to do this!

Here's a video too!

Objection!

No.

Him refusing to shake hands wasn't because he's black, that happened after the racial allegations were made.
He rufused the handshake because he felt he was incorrectly accused of racism and refused the handshake as a form of protest.

Hate the fact though that he didn't shake Evra's hand but went to shake Ferdinand's.

It's still disrespectful, for any manager or player, of any race, to not shake hands with the opponent.

Disrespectful or not, that does not justify the misrepresentation of the facts.

There's what, 21 other players on the field? Surely together they should be able to kick his teeth in?

You're right. He isn't entertaining at all.

Wasn't surprised at all. Has no sportsmanship at all.

Again? He got suspended 7 matches when he bit someone in the dutch league while playing for Ajax

This. Its not the first time.

I think they should suspend him for a full season. That way he might learn.

A lot of people are arguing that you get less for racism than you do for violent conduct and that's a bad thing...

I personally believe it's right.

Racism is just words (at least in the context of these cases) ultimately harmless but violent conduct is a lot more telling and lasting.

You don't though, you typically get three matches for violent conduct and for racism you get 4 (Terry) or 8 (Suarez). For whatever reason the FA think biting is worse than punching someone, trying to ruin their career with a leg-breaking challenge or racially abusing them. On a totally unrelated note, good thing Cameron waded in on the argument, eh?

The FA aren't saying that biting is worse than racism.

He's getting a 10 game ban because not only has he been in trouble before, he has bitten before (i.e. repeat offence).

If he makes racist remarks again he will no doubt get a ban in excess of 10 games.

Although the FA have to change after that McManaman tackle... that was a complete joke!
