Forums - Gaming Discussion - Without counting the ROD'd and (overall other failures) how much is 360 lagging behind Wii yet ?

So there's a party about 360 passing the Wii in the UK. It sold about 8.7m isn't it? But how many replacements units were given away because of hardware failures?

Without the dredded ROD and the other problems that plagged the consoles first 2~3 years on the market that number comes down to what ? 6 million ? 5.5?

How many units does it need to sell to really be the number 1 selling console ?

there is no way to calculate this accurately

on a side note i predict that 4 people will be banned in this thread

Not this old beaten battered and bruised subject again...

Pathetic thread. Replacement units are NOT counted as additional sales.

Provide a source then.

Its a valid question since early units could have a failure rate as high as 40%. That's means for every million, 400k were trashed, replaced, and shipped COUNTING as actual sold units. Corporations spin their numbers to seem their better than others, you should know that.

@Th3Pano ou couldnt be more correct, everyome of my 360 owning friends has bought atleast 2 if not more because they are stupid or clueless

And of course the same rules apply to the Wii, but with a failure rate practically non existant with Nintendo hardware, the units the Wii sold minus the faulty units, remain about the same.

There's no way to tell really. Quite a few of my mates replaced their 360's with new ones after theirs RROD on them. I personally sold my old 20GB 360 off and bought a slim because I didn't want mine to share the same fate :P
