I think the reason I didn't die as much is because I'd already played Demon's Souls beforehand, so knew what to expect when it came to fighting enemies and the boss strategies, even though some were completely different.

Yeah, you should really pick the game(s) up, they're fun and hard at the same time, and if one of them is going to be on the EU Playstation Plus, that'd be great!

oh, for sure.  i flew though dark souls compared to demon's souls but my xbox friend (who obviously didn't play demon's souls) failed miserably at dark souls at first.  he learned but it was really hard for him at first.

Yeah i saw that too. While i agree with most of the points they make, some of them are just ridiculous lol. Especially the one about keeping the items and ability relevant to the fiction of the game universe! I mean what are they expecting they'll. Time travel to New York city or something!!

Demon's Souls was clearly more difficult than Dark Souls, with or without a guide.

I died a ton on demon souls the first time I had it, but that was because I accidentally picked Barbarian /deprived. I then play Dark souls and man that game was easy comparatively. I went back to play demon souls again this time as a royal and it was just as easy.

Demon's Souls was clearly more difficult than Dark Souls, with or without a guide.

I don't think its as clear as you suggest.  I would actually say dark souls is slightly harder if you had no prior experience playing either.  That being said I died much more in demon's souls then dark souls.  I actually cruised through most of dark souls because demon's souls had trained me so well (and I'm guessing thats why you feel the way you do).
