Impossible to really predict this. But I am all for predictions. Someday in a few years I might actually look back at this comment and laugh. I would say if they launch on BF this holiday it will take it around 110 weeks for PS4 probably longer for 720 to pass Wii U. Reasons? purely guessing except for when looking at average sales of each companys consoles. PS consoles generally sell more then 75m, while Nintendo and MS consoles can sell anywhere from 22-24m to 100m and 77m+. Still we know nothing of Xbox 720 and very little of PS4. Wii U might do Wii numbers this holiday.

I'm going to go with "They Won't". As in either of them. That's a bold prediction at this time, but on the other hand, history shows that when Nintendo rolls out the big guns, people pay attention, and often that attention rolls into buying a console. A LOT of people say things akin to "I'm not gonna get the next Nintendo console until Zelda/Smash Bros/The Next Big Mario comes out", etc. I've heard it repeatedly.

I still hold to my prediction that Wii U will have sold around 10 million units by the end of 2013.

It seems to me that this 'nextgen' will have much smaller total sales - like currentgen have around 250 mln, next will be around 150-180 when all said and done.

And the competitors will be very close one to another, so it will be impossible to name a clear victor.

May 2014 for both.
