I like the new design of the Dualshock 4 but do to the new design some limitations have been revealed. Sony has removed analog face buttons. And I'm speculating they have lowered the number of people able to play at one time to four. The controllers will be tied to a camera that willl see the lights they admit and four colors have been mentioned. There is no reason to believe that this camera can track more then four. Sony stated that part of the reason the analog face buttons are gone is that not many developers use it. More than 4 controller games are rare and only Sony gave people this option. If that camera is vital to playing games I have to believe that there won't be any 6(7) player games next gen.



 Go Team Venture! I still don't get the Wii, PS Move,  and Kinect.

It all depends if the camera is vital, however, that would also mean that it would have to include the camera in the retail box.

I remember being hype on how the ps3 could play 8 player games. lol good old days.

@theprof00 They showed off the camera at GDC with the controller and Xbox is rumored to have Kinect 2 in their retail package. It looks like it will be packaged I'm not sure about necessity of it though.

How about, white, purple, yellow, light blue (turquoise)

The camera won't be needed for most games. I don't think they'll reduce the max nr of controllers because of a limited supply of colors...
8 player simultaneous motion games are probably not going to happen. That would be quite a sight though.

Well, while I don't necessarily agree that the evidence is what proves the point, I do believe you are right that ps4 will support a max of 4 players in local

Oh thank god, I thought you meant the clicky analogs, lol... and what do you mean digital?

You nailed the reason why they don't bother with analog face buttons anymore.
Most people don't even know they are analog. triangle, square, circle, x are all pressure sensitive. Now they're just going to be on/off.
