Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Digital Foundry: Most Wanted U beats PS3/360 versions

No shit, I totally couldn't tell the Wii U version was better :P Well, at least the people hoping it is worse(and I shall name no names lol.....) can now RIP.

I'm sure some inferior ps3/360 gamers will post refuting this then state how the ps4/720 will be superior in every way, inferiority complex over Nintendo and it's gamers

Wait what? So people not playing on Nintendo Systems are inferior?

And since you started it... Yes as far as i've heard the ps4 (and 720) will have superior specs than the Wii U... Not that that matters though since this is about NFS: MW...

OT: well criterion did say they would make it the best (console) version so it's not really surprising

I think he jsut used poor choice of words. There was a thread earlier using a "selected" review that was bashing the Wii U for hainvg worst gfx than the 360/PS3 version. People were using that as proof that it was worst, when clearly the developers were saving otherwise.

Basically it was some random small review sites vs the developers word and people took that over other reviews and developer as gospel of the truth.

It's not only a poor choice of words though, because then he adds that PS360 games have an inferiority complex (which makes no sense...)

You are right, inferiority complex is not a good concewpt to use here, I think the word he really is trying to describe is envy, and what do you know? Envious posters are on full display in this thread as predicted.

hmm it would have been interesting to see how much of a polished game MW would have been on PS360 if it had released now along with wii U.

Another 5 months won't turn less than 500MB of RAM into 1GB. ;)

Besides, it was Criterion's 4th/5th game for PS3/360 respectively, but only their first Wii U game, so I doubt the PS3/360 versions suffered for being released earlier.

No amount of time for code optimization is enough,. And 500mb of extra ram just for blurry buildings reflection on wet roads! great

But the PS3/360 will be nearer their limit with NFS than Wii U, because the devs have years and years more time to optimize and squeeze the juice from them, while Wii U is unfamiliar.

And in addition to being higher quality than the PS3/360 reflections, the Wii U ones are accompanied by higher resolution textures and a smoother framerate.

If its about graphics i would play it on a PC, My point is if u are giving me a port, take extra time and give me some extra content to go with it, just like Bioshock was on PS3. I love wii u as a console, but more than anything Ninty fans were the people who said graphics doesnt mean squat its the gameplay which matters, now look where we are.

So does this mean Most Wanted is, to date, the Wii U's graphics king?

(I mean, I personally prefer the style of Trine 2, but I'm unsure which is technically more demanding)

Not everyone has a high end gaming PC though.

Criterion did take the time to give something extra; Most Wanted U has the Gamepad "God Mode" for changing the time of day, car, etc at will, co-driver mode, and off-TV play. It's not Bioshock PS3 but its not a vanilla port.

I was one of those Nintendo fans who said graphics didn't matter compared to gameplay. And you know what? I still say that. But that doesn't mean I'm not allowed to find it interesting discussing technical differences and such.

Great, now the real issue that everyone has missed because they're too busy arguing over pixels. This version is 2-3x more expensive than the others. Which is a joke.

well yes and no.

They did add extra features, such as second driver on the gamepad, that can be used to assist you on screen or to make your life a living hell lol.

From memory the devs explained it as a way for a father and son (young one offcourse lol) to play together by the father on the touch pad helping the son out.

To me that does at value to the game but I agree it should not be double the cost.

Well I thought he may have been from a country where english is not the primary language hence why I said poor choice of words. However now seeing his profile, which says UK,  not a wise thing to say.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mf29-F2Nh88 here is a video wiiu vs 360 comparison video

a very small unnoticeable upgrade, cause of the wiiu ram, many mulit-platform games have a bigger edge from 360 to ps3 and this is an enhanced port which came out 6 months later.

So what percentage of these games have less power than the Wii U?

Not on Origin.
