Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Digital Foundry: Most Wanted U beats PS3/360 versions

Now we're going to see a few posts talking about how "it doesn't matter since PS4 and 720 will have better hardware" and also "it's Wii U's obligation to do better graphics than 2006 consoles".

Anyway, it's great to see that Wii U can handle current-gen PC ports just fine, albeit at a lower resolution. And it's not just about bigger RAM, to run better textures and at a higher framerate you need a better GPU.

Well, not suprised. The single review stating the graphics were worse WAS just trolling after all. Hopefully our crimson ninja will shut up now.

EDIT: Just finished reading the DF review. I wonder why they had to reduce the number of cars in the multiplayer? Does a race have to be "full" to start? If so I think they may have reduced the number to allow the matches to start faster. No matter how good the port, I don't expect too many people to buy this game. Monster Hunter and Lego City Undercover will overshine NfS: MW U...

EDIT 2: Accidently quoted myself :D

I for one will be buying it. I vote with my wallet, and I support devs that put the effort in.

I don't doubt it, but the majority will choose MH3U and LCU over NFS.

PC version looks best but it's barely noticeable.

You're right. The fact that it's a late port will also kill it because the people who want it already have it.

But I will do my part all the same, to the bitter end! ;) Criterion have earned my support.

I bought this myself today and Lego City for my little bro.

I'd be curious to actually see side by side because in the screens there doesn't seem to be a great difference between any of the versions, looks great regardless. I think people get caught up in these side by sides, they have their place, but if you have to slow the game down and analyse screenshots to notice any difference are you really going to notice at 200km per hour?

Great, now the real issue that everyone has missed because they're too busy arguing over pixels. This version is 2-3x more expensive than the others. Which is a joke.

If I hadn't just bought a car and several open bills for college I would have bought NfS for sure. Good ports need to be supported as you said and since Most Wanted was my favorite NfS game it really would have fit. Oh well...

The night lighting difference is pretty easily noticeable without forensic eyeballing. The improved reflections can also be seen without side-by-sides, the wet roads in the PS3/360 versions are markedly lighter because they reflect more sky, less buildings.

I do agree that side-by-sides have gone a bit far this gen, but since I'm one of those poor sods who find it easy to get caught up in forensic type stuff, I'm not complaining... XD
