10 millions?????

It will be lucky to do even 3. Those SquareEnix douchebags are hilarious. But they earned it with their idiotic western focus, looking down on fans and not releasing any decent Japanese game.

What anime is this?

Fate/stay night is the name of anime.

hah bullshit.

Hang on the maths doesn't add up. 10 million in sales at, say, average of $40 per sale is $400 million in gross revenue. Are we saying that the people who bankroll a game $25% of the gross at maximum? Even at 5 million in sales that gives something around $200-300 million gross which should put the game in the black.

Besides, the reboot is surely slated for multiple games. To be successful this game only needs a positive critical and gamer reception and a few million in sales. Enough to get the franchise off the ground again. The next games will cost less to develop because many of the assets will get re-used.

Yikes. Why are game developers making their games more and more expensive? You'd think considering the amount of game developers closing down, they would be more smart about their budgets. Something tells me, that in the 8th generation, we will see more developers go out of business cause gaming budgets are becoming bigger as games become more larger and complex.

Totally agree. I would gladly sacrifice state-of-the-art graphics, physics, and artifical intelligence if it meant lower development costs, lower price tags, and fewer studios going out of business.

well atleast ND made a profit off there games *troll face*

so, we don't read the OP now AND believe in analysts?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Is this the same analyst that said Bioshock Infinite cost $200 million?

Or wait, that was Pachter, wasn't it?

Do these analysts know what they're talking about anymore?

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

at least we got a fucking amazing game out of it

Cant wait to see who will go under next gen!

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I really doubt that the game cost this much. If it did, Square would be stupid, because I'm sure there are many ways to cut costs. This analyst must just be pulling numbers out of a hat, because there is no way Square expected the game to sell 10 million.

Playing Xenoblade 2 before I buy Xenoblade 3 (otherwise I couldn't wait to play 3).

Can they announce a new Fire Emblem? A remake of Genealogy or Tellius would suffice !
