Im kind of a meta freak. Like.. Ever since 08 ive kinda' followed how shit goes down. When Halo 4 got 87, I was a little bit in a denial mode on the whole "Reviewers are getting harsh" but yeah it seems very valid now. We've had Rising, DMC, Crysis 3, Tomb Raider, Sim City, GoW Ascension and not a single game of these have gotten close to 90 meta.

 

I think this might have to do with the gen lasting so long that everyone is just "meh".


I agree with you.  I'm curious to see if reviews stay like this going into the next gen.  If so im fine with that.  We will get use to it over time and itll make 90+ games that much more praise worthy if they are more rarely given.

In general:
Xbox fans and PS fans need to unite. As much as we compete: I don't think either one of us wants to see our beloved franchises get recieved like this and I don't entirely think the reviewers nor the developers are to blame. While yes, the sequel spam is a bit unnerving and new IPs get more attention (unless its GTA lolol): Next gen needs to happen sooner rather than later.

With that said: Yeah, the damage control is fun. When Halo 4 got 87, I even felt bad for a while, dead serious. Then I was my usual self. Now with GoW doing this (even though its not a mainline but whatever) and same for Judgment (its fair to asume that right?) -> It ain't okay!

 

EDIT: With that said: Okay the devs are a bit at fault too. I don't think we are TOO excited about Ascension and Judgment as opposed to IV and 4 on both sides.

(Average 79)


From that list, God of War, Sly, and LBP appeal to me.

Why that? I have never said gears will be great. It's just irritating that sony fans always bash the other products and say ps is the best while in fact it isn't like this list proves.

Selective memory is pretty great. I'm sure you never bash Sony/PS or their fans...whoop

I don't come in ps threads and start bashing their products so no. I do however sometimes bash their fans. But that's because they can be pretty annoying ;)

Who cares what some insignificant uni drop outs rate a game? I learnt that game ratings are worth nothing - play the game yourself.
