For a console the specs for the PS4 really are fantastic.   Games running on optimized engines will look absolutely gorgeous. Currently most rumors point towards the next Xbox being a good bit weaker. 

However Sony fans have been extremely excited since the announcement of 8GB of GDDR5 RAM and honestly there's some pretty outrageous claims getting thrown around all over this forum.

So I just thought it would be pretty hilarious if MS comes out and announces better spec's than the PS4 the meltdowns would be immense.

Specs is why I never played The Legend Of Zelda on NES or Final Fantasy 7 on ps1, games gotta have at least 8 gajillion of GDDF9000 RAM for me to play them! I'm waiting for Xbox 4567854 and PS27 before I play!

Haha specs are overrated, fun games is what matters, ask the creators of Minecraft and Angry Birds how their specs affected fun and sales.

Why? Would that make 8GB of GDDR5 RAM less filled with rammy goodness? Would Killzone:S suddenly look worse than it did the day before?

Honestly, I can't imagine the difference will be meaningful either way. Uncharted 4-6 will look fantastic. Halo 5-7 will look fantastic. Third-party games will probably be identical.

The only difference would be that the 720 would become the new focus of all the "PC LOOKS BETTER" threads.

The Xbox720 will have better specs for sure, Microsoft will not come last and announce low specs, I expect an equal or slightlly better RAM annd a little tiny improvement in some part of the hardware somehow.
This is a safe bet because Sony would do same if they came last...

The thing about the RAM that people arent realizing is that it is SHARED MEMORY. at least 2 GB is going to the OS and then 2-4 GB will be going to the GPU. People are ignoring that though.

Likely they will be pretty even again.
