The First Amendment already prevents any censorship of any kind of creative expression in the United States. In any other Western country, there is some kind of constitutional freedom of speech and freedom of expression. If retailers choose not to stock a controversial game, or developers choose not to make their games controversial, that is self-censorship and has nothing to do with the government. (most likely done as a PR move to not offend easily offended people, religious, etc)

That is what protects videogames from censorship, not a pointless internet organization. (all internet only organizations are pointless and influence nothing.)

So you can stop bothering with this, because the fundamental freedoms of western nations has it covered anyway. Really, an internet forum organization with 8 members is about as useful as an internet petition: NOBODY CARES.

 that does not mean we can't attempt to educate people on the ESRB ratings, research on videio games dont turn people evil, etc

 

Oh, you can try. It does mean that this whole thread and ridiculous attempt at an organization are pointless though.

If any kind of game censorship magically got through the First Amendment, are you honestly so naive as to think that your 4 person internet group would stop it?

^how do you think these thinks get started. What happens when I cut ssj a $100,000 check. What happens when he buys ads all over the internet mainly on game sites like IGN. What happens when he start getting support from the ACLU.

Nothing will ever come of this, like 99.9999% of the stuff that gets started on the internet. It will always just be a few posts in a thread in the virtual wastelands that are forums on the internet.

I'm not going to waste any more time with this, and neither should anyone else. Of course, if you have nothing better to do, go ahead, I could care less.

What sucks about games is games like GTA and WoW give gaming a bad reputation.  GTA teaches kids to steal cars and WOW is the ultimate life sucking machine of the devil.  People need to buy less games and play outside more and Get a girlfriend.  Live don't be a homebound loser who can't throw a ball or even shoot or swim or do those things in real life man.  A jet ski is a million times more fun than even HALO or Wii sports.
