I have the slight red green color blindness too, nothing to fret about as it's the most common form of color blindness. And for me at least, it has never gotten in the way of my daily affairs, or even in games. I can still see red and green just fine. It's just when the shades of red and green are close together and more ambiguous/less defined, that is when I struggle, or when there is really small font. When I tell people I can't see the numbers like in the top row you posted, they're baffled that I can't make out something that looks so obvious to them. Goes to show ya how much perception is a relative thing.

I am not colour blind, yet have often wondered about this.  I live in my own little world anyway, but I know colour blind people live in, but see a different world than I do.

I think games should have a Colour Blind Mode option - just like subtitles.  It should be listed on the box "Conforms to the American Colour Blind Counsel" or some kind of standard.  People shouldn't be left out.

Now with that, you might have faster vision than most - as you might be using more rods for vision and see contrast better too. So it might have been an evolutionary advantage as a hunter. 

Interestingly, female siblings of male colour-blindness often have heightened colour vision – as in an extra colour detecting cone.  Which could give you an advantage at selecting ripe fruit, harvesting, and stuff like that.

Is there like a gaming group to raise awareness, suggest and review games where this is handled or a problem?  The liberal in me wants all those gamers included.

I'm colour blind like you I can still see traffic lights but cant play games like bioshock 2, or dota 2.

Its extremely annoying, i used to be ashamed of it no body knew, kinda wish i kept it that way because now, if i say it I get the "OMG does that mean you cant see any colours" and makes want to punch them in the face reallly hard.

Sony gamers are color blind. Their games are made of 50 shades of grey.

What?  I know color when I see it!

I bet there's LOTS of colors in that game.
