I don't view time as relevant.  If PS2 has better legs then it did better overall.  Period.  Avengers had a bigger opening than Avatar, but Avatar is still the box office king all time (bad example for me because I hated Avatar but loved Avengers haha).  Doing more short term means nothing.  We're talking all-time *points to Kanye* ALL TIME!

Think sony should change that awful (hand crippling) controller which has more pointy edges than kryten's head, it's well over a decade and a half old.

I will be perfectly honest here and I hope you don't take offense...but this is a very stupid thread. For number of reasons

Analysts criticize Nintendo...for their shortcomings. Some use hyperbole yes but what did you expect? They do that will all consoles all the time. Nintendo is having some big problems with the wiiu and it shows. Especially after the recent financials. So they get criticized. Things will change when the system starts doing better and nintendo has shown they can turn things around too.

The other things in if you start taking nintendo comments section then we will have threads like these for every damn things because such places are filled with stupid and baiting comments. If we take such comments seriously, zelda wiiu demo is the best looking thing ever even better than pc games...Golden Abyss graphics would be better than UC3....Insert come equally stupid comment about ms here lol

People are..in general just excited for a new hardware reveal may it be industry folk or gamers in general. Nothing surprising about that either

Show me the point edges. Also why would you care if they changed the controller? You probably have never played on the PS3 in your life.

I feel like Sony is going to be the least arrogant going into this generation and I think that's a good thing. Microsoft is probably thinking they're going to push for domination, which it seems to me is where everyone screws up. Both Sony and Nintendo tumbled hard after thinking they were big enough that they could dictate to both the industry and to consumers.

Right now, if I were a Microsoft fan, I would be a little worried that they might try to bite off more than they can chew. If they become too aggressive, say with some kind of totally integrated Kinect interface, then they run the risk of falling flat if the technology doesn't take off. Remember, the Xbox grew market share mostly by the grace of a year's head start but it had by far the lowest sales rate.

Nintendo, I believe, will be fine. Their software will hold them above water even if the hardware fails to go viral.

My friend is a playstation 3 owner I play it a lot, and owned a ps1 and ps2 it's a terrible controller, I see pointy curved edges that dig in your hand all over the thing

I don't know if they'll do it again this gen ( if PS3 stays on the market long enough and keeps being fairly well supported enough from Sony 1st Parties over the next couple of years ie. "The Last of Us" as a Trilogy only on PS3 while Naughty Dog also makes "Uncharted" games on PS4 until PS3 passes Wii), Next Gen, or Ever; but I would certainly love to see Sony return to the Glory Days when PS1 and PS2 dominated the marketplace.

If for no other reason because they're the only console manufacturer really interested in what Gamers actually want while Nintendo and Microsoft are catering to the casuals Sony's still releasing incredible ips aimed at Gamers.

So your trying to tell me is doesn't dig in your hands, face facts it isn't a good control, it's uncomfortable, guess your to much of a sony drone to admit that
