Yes. PS4 launch title and mass marketing.

Around the Network

I want Killzone in a third person shooter game. I love the killzone art style and the world, but much is lost in first person view. I want to see my character in action with his awesome armor.

I want Killzone with some uncharted movement mechanics, but with more militarized animations, maybe ghost recon, but better. Obviously better shooting because these guys are real soldiers and more futuristic weapons.

ohh and open world...and yes i know none of these things will ever happen.

I don't know. It's all about timing, call of duty took off 5 to 6 years ago when the FPS genre hit its peak popularity. These days FPS games don't feel fresh and go based on brand name. kill zone is Sony owned which here in the states are being outsold by the Xbox nearly 2 to 1. Online mp is huge in the US and is one of the main reasons cod gets its superb sales as well as halo

The real question here is.. can Killzone come up with something REVOLUTIONARY? Like Halo and COD did.

If you want my honest oppinion... I dont think it would. Plus the difference in those two games KZ2-KZ3 to COD2-COD3 is that KZ3 had less sales than KZ2.

Yay!!!

No, it'll never be some huge block buster title.

Killzone 4 will either sell about the same or a little more.

It needs to launch with the ps4 to become huge

Time for hype

Killzone is too "hard". Unfortunately, they're going to have to make it much more easier to appeal to a mass public. You could make the argument that Battlefield is also "hard" and it sells a lot, but Battlefield is a very old, established franchise with a dedicated fanbase...

If Nintendo taught us anything this past generation. It is that console exclusives can sell ungodly amounts. So there isn't anything fundamentally wrong with the premise that a exclusive franchise can do exactly that. Unfortunately this series doesn't differentiate itself enough from the pack for it to get another once over by consumers. There are a dozen or so major titles just like it, and without a decidedly different hook it will seem redundant to those who have already picked a already existing favorite.

This series will find it hard to get that kind of traction when just like about everyone on the planet is doing a gritty war shooter. It just gets lost behind the Halos, Call of duty's, Medal of Honors, Bad Company's, and Gears. It will almost certainly be viewed as another me too shooter. I honestly think that Sony would do much better by putting this game franchise to bed, and coming up with a more novel shooter series. The series story is weak, the Universe is weak, and the mechanics that from what I hear have gotten pretty tight are still basically the common staples we expect from these games.

Sony would be better served if it came up with something far more novel.

No, the old Cod sales were actually pretty good for PS2 games, while the killzone sales were very good. Now in PS3 age the Cod sales are great while the killzone sales are average.

Dunno about sleepr hit but the IP and that universe has so much potential. The MP is fantastic, what they mess up is the Single Player.

Just let the fans play as either

1. A Helghan...maybe a special unit within Helghan where you are contracted to go and kill Rico (A gaf user came up with this idea, forgot his name tho)

2. A new lead character. Sev is ok but not the lead character material, more like a likeable sidekick.

The franchise definitely has potential to be bigger than what it is now. So I hope they take fan feedback and use them well. Look forward to the next KZ

and don't forget, GG is rumored to be making a RPG too :D should be interesting
