Forums - Gaming Discussion - Dead Space 3 is here, what do you think? Played it, Loved it!

Is it just me or does this game look less good then Dead Space 2? I have watched some Demo Playthroughs on youtube and they where played on Xbox 360 and I played the 2nd game on my PC so maybe thats the reason. Has anybody played the Demo on PC or is the Demo even available on PC?

I'm not sure about others but this looks to be the best in the series. Thats what I'm getting out of it.

I don´t know anything about the quality. I was actually talking about the visuals. Dead Space 3 runs on the Frostbyte 2 engine and I had the feeling the visuals wheren´t as great as in Dead Space 2.

Once I'm able to put it on my big screen, Then I will judge it's graphic quality. Either way I'm still stooked about the game.

Just pre-ordered this. Loved the first 2. I like puzzle games. I let my buddy borrow the first one and he is getting stuck non-stop. I didn't get stuck until far into the game. However phat game.

I've heard that it's easily the best looking dead space on console, I've played them all on PC, so I can't speak from fact, and knowing how bad frostbite runs on console compared to PC, it's hard to compare until we see actual PC version.

However I'm not sure it's going to be the best in the series from a gameplay standpoint (there are really cool things they're implementing, but things I'm not sure of, we'll see). I also don't see it selling 5 million unless Dead Space 2 was severely undertracked. I don't think Resident Evil 6 got 5 million (granted it probably will when PC version of that is released and Dead Space 3 probably won't get as hammered from reviews.).

There´s a developer who´s working on Dead Space 3 and posts on GAF...his words:

"I always hesitate to talk about play time because everyone is so different in style. But DS3 is a significantly larger game with a lot more content. Every playthru I've seen has been well over 10 hours. Maybe it's possible, but that would practically be speed running.

Also, there is plenty of space and abandoned spaceships in DS3. I've seen people spend almost some people's entire DS1's playthru's worth of time before even getting to the ice planet."

this is gonna flop, what i mean by flop? selling under 5 million units. why 5 million units? because thats how much they need to break even or make some profits

proof.

this sounds like it's a joke most games will never sell 5 million.

So according to this when I get launch games on PC at just $20-30 down from $50-60, i'm robbing them blind? I find that hard to believe considering the key site is making a profit.
