Ps3 has its trophy system so theres not much difference between the 2, as for not replaying your Ps3 games mabye you just like Xbox more?

I know it has trophies but it seems more than a hassle than achievements for some reason, perhaps I am biased towards 360

It might just be that more of your friends have a 360 and you want to get all the achievements to keep a competitive edge.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

Yeah, I only play 360 exclusives on my xbox. Only because most of my friends play on the ps3 I chose it as my main console, that and the fact that trophies are much more exciting to unlock for me.

I prefer multi-platform games on ps3 since I don't have to worry about getting gold if I want to try multiplayer for a bit, have the right setup to enjoy uncompressed surround sound, and is easier to move around the house with built in power brick and wifi.

As far as controllers go, both start hurting after a couple of hours depending on the game. Still far better then hunched over keyboard and mouse.

I spend the same effort on games on either platform. Achievements and trophies can be a nice bonus but I don't often go out of my way to get them. Usually when the game starts to get boring I look at them as a way to keep interest, some extra goals are always good.
There is one difference, when I only have a couple of bronze trophies left for the platinum I'll try to get it. Dunno why really, feels like a little bonus. I don't have the same with gamer score, 950 out of 1000, don't care about the 50 extra points. And I'm not going to get gold for the multiplayer achievements anyway.

Just under 9k gamer score, lvl 17 and a bit on psn.

you're biased just like i am biased against achievments.  achievments lack of a plat for getting everything is very dissappointing to me.  the plat is the best part.

hey, kitty kat! there is a "platinum" on 360....kind of. there's this montage ppage on your profile that shows the games you got 100% on. not quite the same but serves the same purpose. just sayin'.

Can we all agree that Nintendo (my fav company, BTW) really screwed up by not having an Achievement/Trophy system? I mean, I'm not a big trophy fan but I do go out of my way to get them fromm time to time. I've even purchased a few shitty titles just because they had easy Achievements. They are addictive. I compare my Trophy and Achievements to people all of the time and I'm proud of my Gamerscore.

I'd like to show off my ePenis to Wii U owners. As it stands, the only way to see what I played on my Wii U is to see what I commented on in the MiiVerse. Not even remotely the same. Even when a game DOES have Achievements (like Xenoblade), I'm like "Who gives a shit?" It's not collecting them that's fun. It's showing them off!

i am not a big fan of the xbox360s independant titles. that's just me, but i am also not into digital games, i mostly buy hard copy games. But as i said before, i enjoy sony's exclusives ALOT.

I used to play on both but since my Xbox RROD I stopped getting games for it, I just lose trust in the hardware the same thing happened when my laptop broke I just stop using it. But I never cared about the controllers I could always play an FPS on 360 and go straight to PS3 never bothered me.

I choose to play games on my 360 over ps3, so multiplayer wise I choose this as my console

but recently I have been trying to build up my ps3 collection more and I have to say, I haven't completed a number of games for the console nor do i care to go back to finish them....where as on 360 I completely finish them and try to get all the achievements also.

I dont understand why....perhaps it's the achievements? Anyone else have a similar problem

Honestly I dont care much for trophies so i do understand what you are saying.  I finish my games on ps3 anyways but achievements work much better in my opinion because they can set it a number of different ways and you know where you are at.  For example.

5g
10g
15g
20g
25g
50g
100g

etc.

where as when I play PS3 you have 3

Bronze
Silver
Gold

And then they measure all that through levels and percentages so it is confusing where I know exacctly how much I have on 360

For example

X360 - 21365 Gamerscore

PS3 - Level 11 23%

bingo you nailed it on the head, this must be the reason why achievements are better in my opinion

sounds stupid but sometimes I see a cheaper game for ps3 and think to myself,  i should get if for xbox better to build up my achievements instead

I always wanted to have trophies for mgs4, downloaded the patch and everything, yet I havent even touched the game? wtf

I have this same issue (I own both consoles), but I find myself only playing my PC.

I still need to finish Uncharted 3. I just can't motivate myself to do it. :(

Lvling up is more appealing to me than a simple score. I dunno, it just seems more meaningless. But I guess you just like what you started out with. I enjoy getting achievements on Steam, even though they don't add up to any overall score or lvl. It's just fun to compare individual games with friends and everyone else.

What I never understood is how much each trophy is worth.  And is the platinum worth anything?  I have a few platinums but I dont really know if that helps me out or not
