The problem is there is an other part in storage options that nobody knows anything about. It gets bigger and bigger and eventually takes control of your phone lol. Only solution is going back to factory settings. Pretty much anyone with a WP device I know have the same problem, a quick search shows there also quite a bit people with the same problem.

Ahh I see what you mean.

Yeah in my 2 years of Windows phone use I figured out how to minimize this other data. Essentially some apps need extra storage, for example if you use the Podcast! app to download podcasts, it stores the podcasts you download on the phone as "other" data. Same goes for things like 3rd party cloud storage apps and music players that let you download MP3s and ringtones from internet. It all goes as "other" data.

You just have to manage the 3rd party apps you use and delete stuff you downloaded before you delete the apps themselves. The WP8 devices fully support drag and drop for videos, music, documents and pictures...so I am wondering if they may allow you to edit this "other" data as well. Funny thing is that in the 3 weeks I've had the Lumia 920 I haven't het plugged it in to a computer. All my music is in the cloud and I use wireless charging...

The thing is, if it increases to 100 MB after you do something, let's say, and you undo it, only a fraction of that 100 MB comes back. You can have a full phone with only a handful of apps if you do the same thing over and over. I guess your method would work but I don't think a lot of people realize that. It is good to know there is a workaround though.

Music streaming is too much of an hassle. It unnecesarily eats your data and battery. I use Google Music for cloud storage and it lets you pin certain songs to internal memory.

Thats a cool feature. I would have checked a while ago it out but Google Music isn't yet available for Canadians unfortunately. There is even a 3rd party gMusic app for windows phone lol.  I find Skydrive quite satisfactory for music thanks to the 3rd party apps which allow for proper music streaming experience. By itself Skydrive is not a good music experience at all.

But yeah, with my plan here I have 6 GB of data and its only 10 bucks per GB after. I have yet to go over in the year that I've been streaming songs...

It is not available over here either, I used Thor to sign up.  If that third party app is good (if it supports save to internal memory option) I recommend it. You can store 20000 songs for free.

Sadly here in America only AT&T sells the lumia 920. I'm stuck on verizon, and the windows 8 offerings are two relatively low range phones, in terms of their specs. Went with the iphone because I had issues with my last android phone. Willing to switch again in 2 years if verizon can provide a flagship windows phone. I can handle having to wait for apps, but having an underpowered phone from the getgo is not worth it imo.

So, one Dutch online retailer reports 'low stock', and that translates to the device selling out in the Netherlands?

:/

In the Windows Phone world low stock in a retailer is something to celebrate.

It's great that they're doing good there, but what about NA? Nokia still doesn't seem to be holding up too well here.
I hope they do, though. Some of their newer phones are quite nice.
