Forums - Nintendo Discussion - F-Zero less respect than Pikmin?

I'm not surprised by this... I guess the same go's for Star Fox and Metroid which sell horribly in Japan & Europe.

F-Zero for 3DS might be cool, i really enjoyed F-Zero X and GX not at all...
I think Nintendo needs to try something else with F-Zero or else it's over.

No shit, That's like asking for shenmue 3. You can always dream.

Wave Race sells better than F-zero. We will see a Wave Race before F-zero for sure! Why is everyone so into F-zero these days? It's very dated. Wave Race is where it's at!

Pikmin deserves much more respect than F-Zero because it sells more and is a far superior game in general. F-Zero is nothing special I played both 64 and GX and they were good, but nothing memorable that I'd go back to. Pikmin on the other hand is my favourite game ever made.

If there is one franchise I would like Nintendo to revive, then it would definately be Ice Climbers.
I second this times a million. An Ice Climbers reboot would be the amazing.

Nintendo just release an F-zero for the 3DS (and the older games for virtual console if they haven't already) and if it sells well then they make more. it's been at least 10 years since the last F-zero came out, surely it's worth trying again

F-Zero are hardcore games. What did you expect? GX will put some hair on your chest.

I knew about Pikmin long before I knew of F-Zero.
While it would be nice to see an F-Zero game, I don't think it's well known enough to attract enough attention.

how is that even possible unless you are like 15 years old?

The first console I had was Gamecube, and none of my friends had F-Zero.

First time I played F-Zero was the demo on the SSBB disc, in 2008.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

But I don't want hair on my chest. I think it's kinda gross.

Part of it seems to be that the series was never something Miyamoto really put much effort into. Also add in that it doesn't style wise fit with standard Japanese popular trends and despite attempting to revamp it with a anime series (lame as it was) and the high production GC/Arcade games, the franchise never did exceptionally well on either side of the pond. The most popular aspect is Captain Falcon and a large part of that has to do with Smash Bros.

Add in the difficulty of racing games of that type in general to sell, Nintendo of Japan probably thought it would be ok to let the series fade. Not believing that the fandom attached to the game would be enough to warrant a new game like Metriod and Star Fox are bound to receive eventually.

They should just release a 15-20 E-shop game. The wipe out series did pretty well with this model. I think that this would minimize risk, and then they could accurately gauge interest. People clearly want it, and I think after Brawl and Nintendoland, people will know what it is/ be curious. A hiatus like this has built some interest, much like the Metroid Hiatus built anticipation for Prime.

They would make money on F-Zero.
