Edit - This also will prove that PS3 will have a longer life cycle than the 360. You see, Sony actually supports their older hardware and thanks their consumers. Microsoft on the other hand just wants to take the cash and runs as fast as they can.

And we will be too busy not caring, while actually caring about the next Xbox beating the PS4.

EDIT. That last sentence is just ignorant.....360 is 7 years old with a couple years left in it. This aint like the origional Xbox lifespan.

I know, I sure wouldn't have. There's no denying that the 360 is a strong competitor.  I guess I just get tired of people saying how bad the PS3 is, or is selling. It's still a dominating console, but it's just not the only game in town anymore.

 I totally agree with you.

The PS3 was selling so badly that in 2009 many believed the PS3 was "doomed", so that's some recovery.

The PS has fallen back in the crowd and at the same time the crowd stepped it up.

I don't really do the fanatical support thing for console A, B or C  so I am contented with the way this gen turned out.

The official data says 2011 360 was the best selling Console.

I don't see the inclusion of the Wii in your original post therefore it is irrelevent. PS3 is in first place in the "PS3 Vs. 360" race.

Its there, always has been, regardless of the 360/PS3 rivalry.

Who knows if we will stop caring? Heck I believe the PS3 will outsell the 360 before next gen consoles are even launched but we can't predict the future so who knows. Also I don't think Microsoft will continue to support the 360 because of their history with supporting consoles after the gen has ended. Hey, I know it's not much history to go by but I actually bring up a good point while you just "hope" they will continue to support it. Again, none of us know what the future holds

Yes, 2006 was launch and 08 was a bad year saleswise for ps3 compared to competitors.

Where are you getting this "offical data"? I'm posting on VGChartz, using VGChartz numbers. And the global yearly total for hardware sales has the 360 being outsold by the PS3 in all the years listed, and that includes 2011.

 

Global Hardwarde Sales 2011:

PS3: 14,119,093

360: 13,808,365

Yet they are still losing, haven't passed Xbox, have a lower attach rate, and haven't made $1 profit and lost most of it's market share. But they are outselling but at what cost?
