For reference from the period 2005-2012 the Wii has outsold the 360 and it has also outsold the PS3.

2005 -PS3 didn't exist. 2006-2012. 360 falls behind though.

Just like the latest generation of consoles started now with the Wii U and it will be continuing when the new Xbox and PS4 are released.

I can apply the same kind of logic, how can a new gen start officially when the old gen is still going? Ps2 was only just now discontinued, this gen truly starts now. As logically sound as what you’re saying.
