For me it has to be Journey. I could easily argue that there were better games in many ways, but Journey was a rare interactive experience for me that was a lot of the potential I see in the medium.

GOTY: Borderlands 2
Runner up: Mass Effect 3 (only because of the ending)
Nintendo and PC gamer
My Game of the Year is Borderlands 2. It improved on Borderlands, an excellent game in its own right, tremendously. The writing was quirky and entertaining, the characters were awesome, and the game-play was a blast. The story itself was light years beyond the basic model of the first game, and even featured some twists and turns that were very surprising. It didn't hurt that Handsome Jack is one of the best new characters in years and one of the best villains of all time. In short, the game was just damn fun to play.

Saddens me that i've had Atelier Meruru on the shelf since launch. I haven't gotten to it yet. So many backlog games.

I know what ya mean, I bought Dishonored at launch but I keep getting distracted by other games to review or Guild Wars 2 which is my latest consistent gaming vice. It's certainly a first world problem ^^
