33% markdown just like Nintendo did with 3DS. From $249 to $169. Even then sales will be slow til next holiday unless they have a lot of unannounced high-profile games coming before then, which seems unlikely.

I don't watch TV.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.
Down to $199 is the most likely case. Any other possible adjustments are memory card price reductions, guaranteed 4gb memory inclusion, and elimination of the wifi only model.
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
i would buy the vita at 199 if it had a game, but i think it needs to be between 169 and 189.

You missed out with Black Friday/holiday deals then. Maybe they will do a game bundle promotion along with the price drop to bolster sales even more.

VITA 32 GIG CARD.250 GIG SLIM & 160 GIG PHAT PS3
it will fall to £149.99. Hopefully, memory cards will be slightly cheaper too

In Portugal the Vita was 199,99 starting 16 November till 16 December 2012, then Sony extended the price drop to 31 December. Right now Vita is still 199,99 in portuguese online stores.
It needs to drop to £149 over here in the UK. Retail price is £229 But most stored you can get it for £189/£199 price so it will need something bigger to make a difference. I'm guessing that why the PS3 price actually went up so it will sorta soften the blow for Sony. Also what's the chances of a new Slimmer model next year?

Probably very little. I don't understand the point of a slimmer model. The Vita is not thick and becomming thinner, I'd feel it would become uncomfortable since thickness between you thumbs and the rest of your hands effects how comfortable it is to press physical buttons. This isn't a touch screen only device. The external and the casing is ideal at the moment, its won awards.
The only chances I could see right now would be a dramatic one, like a Vita Go if they can figure out how to keep the analogs in a slider model. The problems with the PSP Go was that it was released later in the PSP lifecycle, wasn't supported with full digital, and eliminated support for its physical games. A Vita Go style model would be viable as the system stands right now and would fully capable model just in a different form factor. Of course the biggest problem to solve would be how to implement the back touch screen, which really makes me want to say the Vita is staying as it is. Which I am totally fine with as the device is great.
Unless there are some cost saving measure that can be made the model will stay the same, and looking at the Vita, I don't think they have much leeway for reducing costs like that as opposed to with the original PSP.
