Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo TVii is live. (in North America)

Ok the TV grid thing is pretty cool. I was scanning through it and saw that Seinfeld was on, clicked on it and then it's on. I always wanted cable boxes to have a better search function and the Tvii seems to be the answer, but combine that with DVR and then that's really something.

hmm but when I used the search function to find Seinfeld it came up with It's Always Sunny.... it still has some kinks I guess

Got it figured out now, I had to scroll to find the providers.

It is broken. Does work half the time when I try to search anything.
They should have waited until it was ready. Huge disappointment....

Any news on the UK side?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Not for a month or so from what I read. Currently just Japan, US and Canada.

First Dish network does not get AMC and now this. For shame!

So what do you guys think? Anyone using it? Come on peoples!

We got it back months ago!

Question to those who've used it, would Nintendo TVii recognize my Dish Network equipment? It is fairly old and has no DVR so I don't think it will.....It's not like I have a Wii U though, just something I'd like to know.

As I said it sucks. Search doesn't work most the time.
The scrolling when you choose favorites is terrible, you have to scroll between the thumbnails to not mistakenly favorite a show. Missing huge number of shows/movies.

Simply doesn't work. Huge disappointment.

@opcode.... how are you using it? i've been on it for an hour or so and it works fine.

it will only find stuff that is available in the tv hulu or amazon right now. pretty soon it will also include netfilx. the sports part is awesome too.

i'm just wondering when the dvr is functioning. otherwise pretty cool so far.

I like it but it wasn't what I expected. I don't know how I expected them to pull it off but, when I heard about TVii and how it would be supported by TV providers like DirecTV, Dish, Comcast, etc., I had it in my head that I'd be able to watch TV on the pad or something.

What it is is somewhat of a database. You can watch a TV show and pull up details about the actors and stuff, you can chat with other people about what you're watching, it's a pretty sweet remote (just touch Cartoon Network and you're watching Cartoon Network), and it has a few other nifty features. It didn't live up to my expectations yet, though. Still a nice little bonus.
