Forums - General Discussion - How do you think the big 3 will be doing in 2020?

I thought the world, according to the Mayans, said the world would end this year.

Serious note: I seriously doubt the Big 3 will be the same 8-10 years from now. One of the original Big 3 companies may be forced out, another may be a merger of two or more other companies, etc.

The ONLY one of the Big 3 of today that I can still see being as strong as ever would be Microsoft. Everything else will change. That's what I think.

Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)

Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U

Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY

Around the Network

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple had some kind of gaming something.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

Microsoft - They'll continue making new consoles and software but their idea of having all forms of media connected won't catch on. The smartphones will do better once Apple loses its popularity since there's no Steve jobs anymore.

Sony- Will be a much smaller company. Samsung and LG will probably push it to self off many of its subsidiaries. I think they will continue making consoles but this mainly depends on the success of the PS4.

Nintendo - They will certainly still be there. In fact, between the three, they are most likely to continue making consoles IMO.

I hope Apple doesn't make any console. I also hope their Apple TV thing fails.

Nintendo - Will have likely transformed its console into a gaming HUB of sorts as gaming between 3DS and Wii U will prove a strategy of growing dominance in the previous generation, with much more advanced versions of street pass and the miiverse in play.

Apple - will have created a Mac/TV type console that acts as a hub with it's iProducts. Their focus won't be gaming, but they will be one of the three big players.

Microsoft - Will sell primarily on Halo 8 and Call of Duty 27 and Kinect 4.

Sony - Will be bragging about how they have closed the gap of the PS3 and Xbox 360 to now under 1 million. Then declare that their 15 year plan was the right thing to do afterall!
