Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Wii U Third Week Sales USA Up by 17%

Good news, and more interestingly is that while the hardware sales has gone up that 17%, the software has risen a 33%. People are buying games.

Lots and lots of games, I have 6 right now, the wife is getting me one for Christmas and I am getting her one as well (Sing party? or dancing) so we are using the system quite a ton, my son can't wait for Lego City Undercover either, too bad its next year.

The strong hardware sales are expected, but the software side is a nice story. Mario and NL are both about to become the system's first million sellers and ZombieU at 250k is outstanding. It should most likely clear a million in time. I'm very happy to see the games I like and bought...BO2, Batman and AC3 also doing well and about to hit 100k which will more than pay for the porting. If the AAA third parties as well as Nintendo 1st party are available on WiiU it will be a very fun system indeed.

I'm getting FIFA 13 for Christmas from my parents, then next game will prob be alien: colonial marines

That's a lot of games.

I'm sure Nintendo would be very, very happy if every WiiU user bought so many games.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

So far in the USA, WiiU's hardware numbers stand at 705,455.  That's because the sales this week are up by 17%.  That makes it just about 23k shy of Wii's third week total.  So this is good news for the system.  The more units it sells, the better chances for third party support get.

well WiiU is going to be a beast this christmast.

And if the games continue to sell with them, then the user base can only get better.  ZOMBIU has cleared about 250k so far and based on word of mouth, it could continue to do so.

awesome, i'm going to buy my  WiiU tomorrow with ninja gaiden 3 razor edge, some critic to that game? is it good or do you recomend me a different one?

BUY ZOMBIU !!! Best game on the system and puts the gamepad to use far greater than any of the other releases(minus the damn glitches)

wow just blew my mind right there

Nice, hopefully it holds up once the holiday season is over. The European sales are a little disconcerting though, although it could just be a typical 2nd week drop. We'll see I suppose xD

good for the wii u. iam sure them people are buying wii games for the wiiu ?

VITA 32 GIG CARD.250 GIG SLIM & 160 GIG PHAT PS3

I'd love to play ZombieU but I don't like survival horror so I'm waiting for a price drop to try it. Though the hype may draw me in.

BO2 I can agree as it's already hit the 100k mark (if VGChartz is to be believed), but how do you know that BATMAN and AC3 are about to hit 100k?  Not that I'm critiquing you, I'm just curious.
