Im excited.  Not really excited but Ill at least play it :)  I thought uncharted had decent multiplayer.  Nothing mind blowing but it was solid.  Probably one of the better multiplayer games this gen at least.

They have two teams working on SP and MP seperately. I'm very, very OK with it.

I don't think the logic of having a seperate team makes total sense. You could have that second team also focus on SP.

I hate to think that the team working on MP is the UC3 team... I hope they're working on UC4 for Orbis.

What if they don't need that many to make the SP? They've had plenty of time too, so it shouldn't be affecting the SP at all.

We have to assume their aspirations and goals for single-player are in some way based around the resources they have at their disposal. If they went into development of the single-player knowing they were going to be able to take advantage of the other team (working on MP) they're aspirations and goals would be different, probably more ambitious. We would maybe see a longer and/or more polished single-player, added mechanics, plot points etc.

Or it could be that only because a multi-player mode was planned they were allocated these extra resources, negating the above para. I hope it's this.

personally i don't get how people can play sp for extended periods of time

even with open world games like gta after a while if you beat all the challenges a sense of monotony sets in

with mp for me that feeling never settles in because you're playing real thinking opponents and you have to constantly adapt to different play styles and develop new strategies to win

for me at least sp content alone can never equal the kind of replay value i get from a game out of mp

ND doesn't need to defend anything.

I look at it in reverse to be honest. No MP game holds me for long, but if the SP is great I will play it like there's no tomorrow. I played 60 hours of GTA4 in only a few days (almost none of that in MP).

Most MP games are the same. Different outcomes, different players. But it's all the same still. You spawn, you shoot, you kill, you get killed, repeat.

lol i spent more time playing gta 4 mp than the sp i think

although thats probably because i found it lacking sp wise compared to gta san andreas

rochstar seemed to strip out so many of the things i found fun in san andreas

isn't that bascially what you do in sp though? you load a level and depending on the game you cross the level while defeating enemies till you reach a certain location

Naughty dog made some good multiplayer for the uncharted games but I don't see how multiplayer would work for the last of us, i would like to be proven wrong but they should've just focused on single player and maybe coop.
