Anyone that would want to buy Epic would probably be looking at a price-tag possibly north of 2 billion.

Overall, I don't think Epic wants too be bought, they've got it great as is.

Unreal Tournament, Unreal Engine 3, Unreal Engine 4, Gears of War, Chair Entertainment, People Can Fly, Epic Games Baltimore, definitely worth 2 billion as a company I reckon. ;)

Big difference, Gears belongs to Epic, not Microsoft.  Microsoft has bought a LOT of companies over the years, though Epic would probably be worth a few billion dollars.  Still, Epic has been looking into investors and perhaps purchasers for awhile.

Epic being aquired by Microsoft would be really interesting, since so many games use Unreal Engine technology.

Oh, and off course Yingpei Games and two more licensing studios. :)
