I've had this preordered for months, can't wait for it to come out! :D

Does anyone know if we'll be getting the sequel too?

The producer behind Xilia said that they will likely release the sequel in 2013 as well if the original does well in the west.

two tales games in one year!! O_O!!! *faints*

judging from the sales of Graces f(according to vgc) then it should be a given.

Yeah its awesome.

I guess comparing it to other Tales games, Graces did pretty good on the PS3. I don't know what Namco's sales expectations are though with these games and at what sales they at least break even. It would be interesting to know.

I think making it a multiplat would have helped them to broaden the appeal and maybe break the 1 million mark. With just a PS3 release that looks like a tall order. Don't really get why they don't port it over to 360. It probably wouldn't cost them much at all.

I think Tales of Graces f probably did better than what they expected, I believe they announced Tales of Xillia  just a week after Tales of Graces f opening, they must've been pleased.

He just said they'll release it if Xillia 1 does well, but not in the same year.

— Let’s be frank. What does Tales of Xillia have to do in order for Tales of Xillia 2 to be brought stateside?

Baba: Since we’ve decided to release Tales of Xillia 1 in western countries, I really want to bring Tales of Xillia 2 to western countries, as well. But I need more and more users to continue showing interest in Tales of Xillia 1. So please enjoy the game and share your feedback with friends!

We don't even have a release date for Xillia so there's no way there's enough time for them to get that out, see how it does in sales, and then plan, localize, and release Xillia 2 all in the same year barring a very rushed localization. I think it'll be localized for 2014 though.

Also they said Graces F sales were a little disappointing (VGC sales are heavily overtracked...220k? The NPD data we got had it a little over 60k...). Still it's good they're bringing over Xillia. They said Abyss 3D did well though so at least there isn't diappointment on all fronts. Hopefully Xillia does well enough so we get to see more Tales games over here.

Fair doos. Wherever I read info of the interview said it had a likely 2013 release which made sense to me since if the PS4 comes out in fall 2013, the sales of Xillia 2 would probably get killed if it released any time beyond that. Maybe thats just me though.

Either way, when it comes doesn't matter as long as it makes it to the west.
