I know. I had four previously that I had to go straight to the store to exchange for and when the fifth one bricked I just went out and bought the elite which was my sixth xbox.

Have you tried USB drives? AFAIK you can add up to 64 GB now.
Just get a 250gb slim, I found a really good deal on mine, only £100 and this was over a year ago.

Edit - Okay so it still pops up with system update but the card apparantly can't hold that much data because it only has 44MB on it. Since I can't get the update it won't let me connect to xbox-live.
