So what's the point of actually buying games for this system again?

PS+ till I die! Literally lol

For me PS+ is worth it because of the cloud storage.  The free games for me are a plus XD

If I kept my PS3, I would've stop buying games and just get PSN+. Eventually, the games I wanted would be free.

Told you you were making a mistake.
Who buys a PS3 just for Uncharted 3 then sells it?

Was it worth it? Are you enjoying the Wii U?

:D Sony don't want me to leave the house this summer.

You get to play them when they get releases, and sell them if you want.

Many of us don't have the money to buy every good PS3 game, so when PS+ offers up one of these games we missed, its a win.

Im still wondering how they make money of this lol.

they aren't loosing a dime offering games as downloads..

no shipping.. no physical medium to pay for.. no boxes etc..

besides I assume they release these games because they have already sold millions of copies as full priced games.. so they've brought in profit and got even with development costs a long time ago

I mean.. they aren basically renting the games out.. $49.99 per user.. if they have over a million users that's 50 million in revenue for just renting games.. and I'm sure they have at least over 2 or 3 million users on ps plus

That and the awesome discounts on new and old games that are only on PSN.  This causes many who would have normally just passed up on a few games at the normal price (usually ~$9.99-14.99) to seriously reconsider when they can get them for just a buck or two.

@ OP

PS+ rocks.  Great value for the money.  I just recently bought a year membership around October and I am never going back.  I hope they announce the NA schedule soon.

I take it you don't look at people's game collection in their profile.

1) What makes you think I bought a PS3 for Uncharted 3? I bought it in Feb2010 when I upgraded to an HDTV and wanted to have access to AAA 3rd party games Wii was never going to get. I chose it over a X360 because of bluray, better media player features, and free online. I then played Uncharted 1-3, LBP1-2, BatmanAA, AC1/2/B/R, DeadNation, Flow, BattlefieldBC2, BF3, ... and I still feel like I'm missing something. But I also used it heavily a media center. However, when I finish a game, I sell it on Ebay to buy new stuff. So by the time I sold the PS3, all I had was a few disc games and the digital content.

2) Of course it was worth it. The WiiU plus three extra games and a pro controller have only cost me $150 out of pocket. (sold my Wii for $80 too) I still get same great games (except for future Uncharted games, but I can live without that just as I've lived without GearsOfWar), plus all my Wii content is still useful.

My question was a bit provoking on purpose. I got a PS3 and own all the games I'm interested in. I didn't subscribe to PS+ and don't plan to as I wouldn't really benefit from it. I would only get access to games I wasn't really interested in in the first place.

What I really want to know: Subscribers benefit because they get access to games they probably would have never bought, but do developers like e.g. Limbo's Playdead or Vanquish's Platinum Games benefit from PS+ as well? Do they get money when they permit that their games are offered on PS+?

About the "Just wait for them to come up on PS+"

You're not likely to get games like Uncharted 2/3, God of War 3, MGS4, Killzone 2-3 etc on there. So there are games you actually have to buy :P

Although I admit it'd be cool if they gave that for free. Would really introduce some people to it and give more players :0. Maybe someday!
