Forums - Sales Discussion - Blops 2 sold 700k-800k first week in France

"Thus, according to our information, the game Activision Blizzard has unsurprisingly made by far the biggest start of the year in France, with sales to be between 700 000 and 800 000 copies in the first week of marketing.  This is less than the highly ambitious goal of the editor that was 1 million, and it is also a slight decrease compared to Modern Warfare 3, the previous record in the series, down 4%. For comparison, we recall that according to the information Gamekult, FIFA 13 had started at 455,000 sales in France."

Pretty good results, since only 4% decrease from last year. PS3 version usually have 70% share in France. Fifa 13 sales are spot on which is great.

i don't get it, activision gave us official revenue numbers which imply the game sold less as mw3, then we get statements that it sold better in those countries as vgchartz is saying (france, uk) and that it had that huge gamestop midnight sale and bla but vgchartz is tracking it only as much lower as it make sennse if you compare activisions official numbers.

so, everywhere undertracked but still spot on?

I do not know. It's lower in UK and probably USA, but could be on par in the medium big countries like Germany, Spain and of course France.

yeah but you remember that "huge gamestop midnight release" and the gfk numbers from uk saying it sold better as fifa which would also mean we have uk undertracked here? that's what i don't get, it could be overtracked in usa then on vgchartz but that also doesn't sound logical with the gamestop numbers.

€dit: ok they say it's lower as mw3 and we also only have this at 450k or something in france's first week so at least the percentual difference between mw3 and blops 2 makes sense on vgchartz but cod seems to be undertracked in general for france.
