I was just looking at the $199 deal for the new 250gb PS3 with the Uncharted/InFamous collections and it went instantly.

The PS3 Gran Turismo 5 XL Edition for $10 went in a heartbeat, but I was able to grab it off the waiting list. I think it sold out in about 5 seconds.

keep an eye out cuz i think all major retailers will be having that ps3 deal

Wow, that's a really good deal. If I was interested at all in AC Liberation or Allstars it'd be tempting.

They should have just included a 16 GB card and priced it at 199.99 considering they are including a download copy of Playstation All Stars which will probably take up most of that 4 GB card.

They would lose even more money as 16GB cards cost $40-50.

It isn't even remotely in that vicinity in terms of cost. They wouldn't be losing that much more at all.

Maybe BenV could answer this, but I am not even sure retail stores pay that much for things like Mem cards and accessories. It's usually the consoles themselves that generate the least amount of profit over cost.

Reminds me of the days when I would buy USB cables from Bestbuy with my fiance's employee discount for $2 when the retail price was $30+. I would then go to a different Bestbuy and return them for store credit, which is what you get without a reciept. I couldn't use one since the cost showed $2. That's how I got a $600 PS3 for like $30.

Can't do that anymore since she now is the nursing supervisor in a private practice for Pediactrics. Not that i'm complaining.

Well you're right, they're actually $60 and not $40. My bad.

Might be 60 at Gamestop but it is ~47 on Amazon.

Okay, so scratch the 16 GB and include the 8 GB which is ~29 and mark it for $199.  Don't get me wrong it is a good deal but that 4 GB memory card is going to get filled up pretty dang fast considering PlayStation All Stars is 1.3 GB.  So you would have around 2.5 GB left considering there is always a little memory set aside that one can't access.

I agree for sure. Free Uncharted, Wipeout and PSABR from that bundle won't even fit. 8GB should definitely be the bare minimum. Just that people forget how ridiculously expensive these cards are. Sony dropped the ball on the proprietary memory, should have just gone with micro sds.

I will admit that it is a very good deal, but I don't really need a Vita, and I don't think I want one anyway. I'm content with my 3DS

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

I said a while back I wouldn't buy one because I feel that the Playstation Hardware from Sony is not truely optimized all the way, and I would wait it out; however, at this price point, I will jump in. Thank you very much Op for the heads Up. If the hardware still fails, I am sure I can sell it and get 50% of my money.
