Forums - Gaming Discussion - Far Cry 3 seems to be hitting all the right notes

I don't trust the reviews. Far Cry 2 got great reviews, but that was one of the most boring, repetitive games I've ever played (The online was pretty sweet though). I'll be waiting to hear actual gamers' impressions, particular people who had the same opinions of Far Cry 2 as myself. It does look improved, but I won't be making an decisions just yet.

yeah, I felt that way about 2.. I thought the game got a 70 in meta, but it's 85. It was a pretty okay, C game. But that wasn't developed by crytek like the first one was (this isn't either). The first one was awesome though.

they did it with mass effect and that was in march!, and they did it with mass effect 2 and that was in january when it was released. This is nowhere near as bad, and as far as I know the end of "big releases" which basically are the only titles that have a shot at most major sites. Like Grammy's

sorry your not making sense there. mass effect games releasing at the start of the year are released in the year and are in contention. What im saying is far cry had no shot at any nominees because they were announced before it and other games even came out. not the case with mass effect

He's saying games released in the beginning of the year basically have no chance for winning GoTY, because judges tend to only vote for recently released games.

"Fans of open-ended stealth are in some kind of heaven here. Moving between the concealment of bushes and obscured sight-lines, watching the silhouettes of marked enemies move around on the other side of scenery, you can pick off the weaker ones as they become isolated, or maybe toss a stone to tempt them out of position. "

SOLD!

Sounds like Crysis to me

Intel Core i7 3770K [3.5GHz]|MSI Big Bang Z77 Mpower|Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1866 2 x 4GB|MSI GeForce GTX 560 ti Twin Frozr 2|OCZ Vertex 4 128GB|Corsair HX750|Cooler Master CM 690II Advanced|

Lots of eye-candy and sounds pretty promising. Very nice.

actually he's right sort of, I got confused because, I thought he was saying they should wait until december to nominate games and that Far Cry shouldn't be nominated yet. However, I think he was saying they should wait, because games that come out later still have a shot, and won't win this year or next year.

However, I do agree with what Jay520 is saying to a degree.
Everyones confused, how amazing.
