Have been mesmerized by the Wii U’s Gamepad?

So far, I haven't been able to get it to control my receiver. I'm hoping that when the full Nintendo TVii experience goes live that it will included added support for receivers more like a Harmony remote. So far the feature is useful, but disappointing. I haven't controlled the volume with the TV in probably 5-10 years.

Maybe we'll have to wait for an update to the console. The TV set up was soo easy it just got me thinking

What I like is that it is basically a universal remote. I can turn on my cable dvr box and tv with it. I can turn the channel, and adjust the volume as well as changing the input. I thought that was a really cool feature and it was super easy to setup. Besides that it doesn't have a camera application so I was disappointing in that. Unless Im mistaken?

Yeah, setting the Gampad up to work with your TV is supper easy. I got me wondering what other devices you couuld get it to control. You got it to controll more than your TV, can it also work with a  receiver - at least to power it on, control volume etc?

What do you mean reciever?  Like DVR satelite/cable box?  I can power it on and off yeah.  We are probably talking about 2 different things though lol

i don't have a wiiU but i often fall into the same idea with my ps3 ... i spend as much time looking at trophies, friends, psn store, netflix, pandora, as i do actually playing games.

They don't have a pandora app for PS3 do they?  Or do you access it through the website on your PS3 browser?

I meant audio receiver that I got my surround sound, TV, consoles etc connected to. I'm thinking it doesn't work (at least not yet).

Yeah I'm not sure.  I'm sure there is a work around though.  That is a great question.

i can't say i've specifically looked but i don't believe there is a pandora app.  i have pandora as my home page of my browser as it is the most common place i go.  my ps3 is already hooked up to my good speakers so it works out better to use it when i can.  hooking up my laptop isn't hard but it takes like 10 seconds ... 10 seconds of my life i want back.  :P

make sme really want to get a wiiU. I have to hold off for now but maybe soon

It's the curse of any brand-new console. You're enchanted with the possibilities, but the actual games are a little thin.

Patience is a virtue with any new console, of course.
