Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Which Wii U games are going to bomb?

Everything not girlie or kiddie...

Around the Network

Skylanders Giants, Wipeout 3, Sing Party, ESPN Sports Connection, Rabbids Land, Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2013, Game Party Champions.

Companies trying to sell 'casual' games at launch are going to be disappointed. Most of the early adopters are more interested in ZombiU and the like.

Whoops I forgot Just Dance 4 and Skylanders in my predictions. That makes things a bit tougher.

1. New Super Mario Bros. U
2. Call of Duty: BLOPS2
3. Just Dance 4
4. Zombi U
5. Nintendo Land (non-bundled copies)
6. Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed
7. Skylanders
8. Epic Mickey 2
9. Scribblenauts

Bombs: Mass Effect 3, Darksiders 2, Ninja Gaiden 3, SiNG Party, WipeOut, Your Shape, etc.

I agree with the poster above, I think a lot of the casual publishers are going to be surprised when their games bomb on Wii U. Wii U is not PS3/360, but it's not quite Wii either.

Since the European ZombiU-bundle is sold out everywhere it is silly to think that game will flop.

Mass Effect 3 will probably bomb hard. Then EA will go "hurrdurr our gaemz don't sell on Niitendo conzole, we outa here". And I will be like

and pick up ME3 for Wii U in 6 months from the bargain bin.

I am sure they will. "Lets release a game that no Nintendo gamer will understand because they have not played the other ones, make it no different than the HD systems, and call it a day!" Hopefully it pushes a million so we can laugh in their faces!

In my opinion, that narrative is utterly wrong, as if Nintendo gamers know nothing at all. The real problem is EA releasing gimped crap. Garbage, competing against their own release with a collection, no effort, missing features, that is the problem. A new CEO might fix them, but they are as likely to loose great amounts of money as is their custom.

Tanks is gonna bomb.

I think that damn near all of them are going to do poorly. I was in Gamestop today buying NSMB U and Black Ops and the launch just didn't look all that impressive--despite having some good games. Batman (which I will buy) is a year old. Ninja Gaiden is improved but it was garbage on other consoles so it has that reputation. Assassin's Creed III is the first in the series on a Nintendo home console. Mass Effect 3 is old, has issues, AND will cost more than the trilogy on other consoles. Tekken (and the fighting game genre) aren't big on any console. Most of the rest just don't stand out.

The Wii U's success stories will be Zombie U (if it's good), Nintendo's own titles, and possibly the party/fitness titles. We'll have to wait for the games that are not late ports and the titles that are made with the Wii U in mind. Like the Vita launch, we get a lot of titles that are technically good but still just don't stand out. If I had any sense at all, I'd wait a few months before buying. Unfortunately, I'm legally retarded.

*oh, and Mickey Mouse should do well*

Tanks tanks tanks is gonna tank hard. ;)
