According to one daily newspaper in the UK, they have today revealed that Black Ops II has shifted 8 million units globally on PS3 and Xbox 360 in just 24 hours of going on sale, putting any rivals to shame. Black Ops managed to squeeze around 5.6 million units for the same period and the recent Halo 4 sold an impressive 3 million in its opening day – but this is an Xbox exclusive. Assassin’s Creed 3 also sold well with numbers in its opening week around 3 million on consoles. Last year’s Modern Warfare 3 garnered a staggering 6.5 million day one sales. Still, when Activision reveal the full numbers, which undoubtedly they will do with much gusto, it will be interesting to see how the momentum has carried through the week.

Just when people thought it couldn't get any bigger. And this isn't taking account of Steam sales or the upcoming Wii U sales. I have personally been playing MP and Zombies and it has been an epic experience so far. Plus I think it is safe to say that BO2 has outsold Halo 4 on 360.
So who else has been pwning it up on Blops 2?

Going to pick it up sometime between Turkey Day and X-Mas. Judging by the reviews and the response from gamers so far, the game seems to deliver like no COD has since the first MW.
To all the haters... I've only got two words for ya...

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Defo man. Even though I have only played MP and zombies for a day since it came out, I haven't had this much fun with COD in a long time. This is probably up there with the original MW. Props to Treyarch for taking out all the bullcrap (second chance, last stand, dead man's hand) and rewarding players for playing the game how it's meant to be played (like doing objectives). I would say buy without any doubts.

Wow. That's insane. Curious of the per console breakdown. I'm guessing 5 million on 360.

2009: COD MW2 sells 4.7m copies in one day, breaking all previous game records.
Fast forward to present 2012: COD BO2 sells 8m copies in one day, breaking the previous records set by the last two CODs.
Fast forward to future 2016: COD runs for President... wins by a landslide.
