Those are low end PS1 graphics (Super nintendo sprites with 3D environments).   Still I think you are right on this one, they look like PS 1.5 graphics ;).   But, ugly graphics are ugly for today standards.  You would expect something better considering that a near launch title like RE:Revelations looks a lot better.

Yes, resident evil graphics are the way to go for this game.

Man, this game cursed all 3DS games after it. Nothing is gonna be as good as RE:REVELATIONS in the eyes of graphicists, even though nothing is trying to be comparable with it, in the first place. In my opinion this game looks better than Revelations and it looks way better than PS 1.5, but it's just that, my opinion.

I won't go further with this, cause like all opinion based discussions are useless. I merely "corrected" your opinion cause I thought it was funny comparing a PS1 full 3D remake with a PS1 game. Objective discussions, imo, just on sales threads.

I too, have no intentions of playing this game again, because it's too time consuming.

But to those thinking this is a cookie cutter story, many mini-scenarios in the game and the final act will most likely change your opinion - some turnabouts await you (thank you ace attorney for this word!)

So. I've never played a Dragon Quest game before (I know, so sad for an RPG fan...)... But as an RPG, how does this compare to the likes of Chrono Trigger or FF6? (My favorite RPGs of the 90s)

The only game in the series I reccomend is Dragon Quest V. The story is probably the best in the series, and the monster battle mechanic (a la Pokemon) was well ahead of its time.

So I was really dissapoinyed when Dragon Quest VI wasn't as good in any aspect my brain could possibly concieve... except maybe in the humor aspect.
