First Dragon Quest VII Screens!

Whoa, this actually looks good. Reminds me of the bump up with FF3 for DS.

So. I've never played a Dragon Quest game before (I know, so sad for an RPG fan...)... But as an RPG, how does this compare to the likes of Chrono Trigger or FF6? (My favorite RPGs of the 90s)
