Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo is still robbing people blind with its old dead Wii game

Tagged games:

All Nintendo games rarely drop in price. Mario kart 7, Super mario 3D land are still beeing sold at max price. Nintendo games have impressive legs. Its something other companies should study. Nintendo is an impressive example of sucess. They defy the regular behaviour of the market.

MKWii is currently selling for over $50! Injustice!!

GT5 is the best racing game ever made and yet people let Nintendo get away with charging a premium on its casual Mario Kart Wii.

Why are you not outraged as a gamer?

First off people have more fn with Mario kart than GT.  Number two, Forza has dethroned GT5 for quality for a a while now.

This, pretty much.

Mario Kart is the top of its class.

GT5 is not.

Because it's great game and doesn't have real competition in that category? LBP Karting just got out with so so reviews, and though my kids prefer good ol' Mickey Mouse Speedway (cause of Disney's characters), Mario Kart is still best way to go for kart game.

mmmm.... I have both, and I have played MKWii way more than GT5, but I like GT5, I don't use any wheels for MKWii but I have an actual playseat with a G27 for GT5 and I play in 3D a lot. Both are pretty fun, but MKWii is like, arcade fun, and as a video gamer, arcade is always more fun than simulation since I don't play games for how real they are so.....

Gran Turismo may have a lot of licenses and stuff in it, but it is also very boring. A great number of people love Mario Kart, and consider it one of the best games of all time. More people prefer to spend full price on Mario Kart than to waste money on a discounted game they find boring.

You can call Mario Kart "casual/dumb" all you want, but that sort of sentiment is irrelevant in the real world where people find Mario Kart both more fun and more satisfying than Gran Turismo. This has led Mario Kart to being a far more successful game franchise.

You lost all integrity with those two words.

Yeah we all know GT is mind-numbingly boring not merely "very" boring.

Didn't know? Nintendo doesn't price drop their best games until years after release. They really are that greedy.

When your #1 in sales, you do whatever you want. Sony with GT5, that game price dropped so fast.....this was to keep sales momentum going.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I remember Mario Kart Wii was still in high demand about 2-3 Christmas ago that the prices were inflating like crazy (Craigslist, etc) during the holiday season. They were still selling out of stock in stores during the holiday season a few years after its release.

GT is a good simulation game, but is not 30% the fun of MK (wii, 7 , 64)

34 years playing games.

Don't agree with the Gran Turismo part, but yeah Nintendo does over charge for their products. They seem to believe 4-5 years later there games are worth full price.

Hint: They're not.

If they weren't worth the price, people wouldn't buy them.
