No, 2007 was. Every year after that people say the same thing, next year the best. Bioshock, Halo 3, Mario Galaxy, Call of Duty 4, Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, The Orange Box, Phantom Hourglass, Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted Drake's Forune, etc, etc

I know, it sounds crazy, specially since THQ stated they are focusing on more low-budget AAA games (for comparison Homefront cost them 35-50mils + marketing, with the same "we need 2mils to break even" mantra). Guess licensing and those voices don't come cheap, since in this title animation and core mechanics are not what that money can't really be spent on...

Next year is looking promising, oh and you forgot the eventual not announced yet Souls game!

We are ending this gen with a bang that's for sure. So much anticipated software. These consoles will be riding the waves for a while, especially PS3. I have to wonder what we can expect in 2014 for launch software.

at the moment i think 2011 was the best year. uncharted 3, skyrim, portal 2, modern warfare 3, battlefield 3, gears of war 3, batman arkham city, legend of zelda skyward sword, infamous 2, assasins creed revelations, saints row 3, forza 4, mario kart 3ds etc etc etc. but 2013 looks amazing too. i think it can top 2011.

2007 is a really good choice.

But I'll go with 1998. As long as we go by North American release dates.
