I haven't been able to put much time into it. It's beautiful for sure, and the gun-play has been fluid so far. Really looking forward to being able to put some real time into it later today though.

I probably shouldnt do this but you guys mention Uncharted and best graphics etc console yada yada =>

Its a fucking amazing looking game, but due to the nature of it being open world => Comparing the pure visual fidelity of say the textures and what-not : It falls short in contrast to the very linear games such as Killzone and Uncharted.

Theres a lot of usage of CGI as well.

I mean have you even seen the character models in engine? Just compare the pre-renderd cutscenes to Uncharteds ingame.

I am not trying to take a hit at Halo 4. At what it does, it does very well. It completely and utterly destroys anything Bungie has done.

But would I say it even looks better then Crysis 2? Probably not.

But that is where you should put the comparison to. Both are somewhat sandbox-y.

I mean can you really completely outlook the fact that linear games simply CAN have more attention to detail than more open games?

You can be floored by the technical and aesthetic visuals, but by saying pure visually bar none -> That is just ...no.

The best looking game in my opinion on the 360 due to it being restricted and allowing the devs to put details into small areas is by far Gears of War 3.

Just my 2 cents into the whole graphic warfare shit that I love.

As for the game =
Its awesome!!!

All consoles are limited extremely.  The all look bad with a few examples of them looking somewhat good because they pushed the limits and did a few technical tricks to make it look better like Uncharted and Halo.  Crysis 2 was a technical mess with jaggies, framerate issues, buildings spawning out of no where, etc.  I think people are just excited because yes for a console game Halo 4 runs well and looks well and that is why it will get compared to Uncharted.  You compare it to a PC game and it gets obliterated.

Yeah ofcourse about the PC part, goes for any console game really. But the fact remains that Halo takes a much wide gameplay where as Uncharted has a far more small one. This is why comparing both, it is rather clear beforehand who the winner is speaking PURE visually and not technically or aesthetic. Having a much more open area just doesnt allow for the same sharp and crisp textures as having a very small one. I think Just Cause 2 looks fucking marvelous but it cant hold a candle to linear games such as Gears of War 3. But on a technical level, that game is fucking immense!

But im gonna let the people have this one here. With that whole meta shit, I am just going to stay away and try to avoid the feel of me jumping at people XD. Horray for great games!

I'm reporting you, Aldro.

Oh I see what you're saying now lol Ah both games look good in there own way.  Im not even going to compare console games.  Im simply going to say they are both prime examples of a good looking console game.  Both are great games as well, so a win win.

I'm considering it. But I played the demo of Halo Reach and I didn't like, the graphic was weak and the gameplay was average.

Well Halo 4 is, without any doubt, the best looking FPS of this gen. But if you don't like halo gameplay then you don't like halo gameplay.

Killzone 3 says 'hi'. Not even mentioning the Crysis 2.

Removed as a nice mod has come in to kick Aldro's ass for his naughtyness.

Back on topic, I'm really enjoying the campaign, does anyone know what resolution it's running at. Looks SOOOOOOO much better than any rubbish Bungie turned out. Sorry, I respect Bungie for what they did with the original, but was never impressed with Halo 3 or ODST and REACH. They were graphically lazy.

Halo 4 is like a next gen game to compare relatively, loving it.

Anyway, let's get this thread back on subject.

I wasn't able to log in much time last night but the small amount I played was great. I like how 343 was able to give so much incite into the character and background of Master Chief in like the first cinematic. I always felt like he was just some generic robot guy based on my experience with the older Halo games. I never read any of the books. Just seeing that interrogation scene at the beginning of the game made me sympathize with him. Can't wait to see where the story goes!
