Because clearly they just don't care.  Right?

Why not take a step back and ponder why those features will arrive via a system update rather than just ignorantly berate them for it.

Actually, a more specific reason seems to be that those services are directly tied to your Nintendo Network ID and you obtain a NN ID via your Internet connection which is why you have a big Internet based system update on day 1.
