German gamepro is really not a magazine you would trust, unless you are 12 years old.

That't the typical biased garbage I've come to expect, so the game is a Kracher! |
Could you translate the positives and negatives for us please?
I guess scores tend to be inflated in some genere while deflated in others.
80 is a good score for a party game like Nintendo Land, if it we were talking about an action game or an FPS, then I would be worried. As for Mario, since it's not graphic intensive or online intensive and it's not an indie game either, I'm not expecting anything more than 85-90.
archbrix said: Didn't Wii Sports receive similar scores back in '06? Personally, I expected Nintendoland in the 80-89 range (which is actually a very good rating in my book), though I do hope that Mario warrants a 90 or higher average. Very interested in reading reviews for ZombiU... |
Wii Sports got an average of about 76/100.

This review has all signs of a rushed one to get it published before other magazines. A playtime of eight hours and the difficulty being described as "easy" points to a barebones playthrough, so neither was the "story" mode fully completed with all hidden levels unlocked, but also the challenge mode and others only scratched on the surface. Anyway, on to translating the bullet points. Graphics: Pros - nice comic style, lovely backgrounds, funny presentation; Cons - could be more detailed, technically unimpressive. Sound: Pro - typical Nintendo melodies and sound effects; Con - unspectacular. Multiplayer: Pros - five players simultaneously, chaotic (but in the good way), positioning of platforms requires teamwork (refers to Gamepad touchscreen functionality). General: Pros - varied level design, obligatory perfect controls, Squirrelsuit, adorable baby Yoshis, additional game modes; Cons - Short "story" mode, not many uses for the Gamepad. Verdict: Not a real system seller, but a very good traditional 2D platformer that is first and foremost designed for multiplayer. |
Hahaha. They truly believe this?

Cheers for that. Also pretty sure this will be the game shifting systems for quite a while.
