Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 is coming to a close in only one weeks time with the final character save data. The alpha is set commence very shortly. Square-Enix has released images of the new clients character creator. As the game is still only nearing the Alpha phase, everything is still unfinished.

I am liking how this game is turning out. I put 3 years of my life into FFXI so it was fairly shocking to see FFXIV was not originally up to par. Glad they fixed everything (I think).

Questions. What is going to happen with the PS3 Beta? I think I remember everyone who got PS3 version of FFXIII got a beta code in it but never used it....obviously. They should really let everyone on PS3 Beta test it just like they are doing with PSASBR. So glad you can fully customize the characters, unlike in XI where every other person has the same face. Will definitely keep things interesting. I want this pretty bad, but the fact I will have to once again pay a monthly fee quells that hunger. I wish it just wasn't so much, if MMOs charged say...8bucks like netflix, they would be much more tolerable. 15 a month is just too steep for some.

The PS3 Beta codes will be honored. Based on information we have thus far the PS3 beta will start a little bit later than the PC beta. In regards to the subscription cost it will be:

Legacy Members: $9.99 for 40 characters - 8 per world.
Basic: $12.99 for I believe it's 8 characters - 1 per world (Don't quote me here, but I know it's $12.99).
Premium: $14.99 for 40 characters - 8 per world.

PC version will retail for $29.99 (however all existing and previous PC owners will obtain a FREE upgrade to the new client. So you will not have to pay anything, and you will receive another 30 days free trial). PS3 will retail for $39.99.

This may be my first day buy in a long time. I've seen videos of the PC version and it's intriguing.
