I'll say the next year's COD (MW4?) will have a bigger drop than this year's drop. 

COD is becoming the next Guitar Hero....

The drop will be quite small in the end though...

Bo2 opened around BO and Bo sold around 95% of MW3.

So I think BO2 will likley sell around 90+% of what MW3 sold...

Remember MW3 had terribile legs...BO had great legs...

Considering BO2 is seen as a big improvment from MW3...I think it will stick around for much longer like BO...

After 2 week, xbox black ops 2 US sales is about 800k behind MW3 and just about the same as black ops 1.  For PS3, it's about 300k behind MW3.

For week 3 USA sales, Black Ops 2 xbox360 sold 420k with total 4.7 million. After 3 weeks for MW3 xbox360, it sold 554k with total 5.45 million.

For week 3 USA sales, Black Ops 2 PS3 sold 216k with total 2.7 million. After 3 weeks for MW3 ps3, it 352k with total 3 million.

The Black Ops 2 PS3 sales did better initially matching MW3, but the week-to-week sales are dropping faster....... All those COD games that treated PS3 as second-rate customers are finally catching up?

WW BO2 is only running 6% behind MW3

BO2 has reached around 17.9 million on XBOX and 360

Compared to 15.7 million for BO and 19 million for MW3 over 5 weeks.


So COD is declining WW but increasing in Europe

Let's wait until after Christmas.  Black Ops 1 did very well with longevity and Modern Warfare 3 was a little worse.

based on sales, it appears BO2 will have better legs then MW3....
