My only complaint (that actually has me extremely worried) is that the game feels like a big theme park. Others pointed this out first, and then I realized how much I agree. Everything is so sectioned off, with all small areas together, that the world feels like a big theme park with monster and location exhibits. Also, high level players and low leveled ones are very unlikely to interact with each other due to this sectioning.

In the original FFXIV, you had extremely tough monsters and weak monsters closer together, and the world was more open and cohesive. You'd see all sorts of different leveled players everywhere.


There is level cap events/quest that auto sync players into a specified level. I think you can level sync in dungeons too.

Has anyone else been having problems getting into the game? The last two times I have tried logging in through my PS3 (today and two days ago) it said it was undefined, and when I look at the server status at the bottom of the screen it shows that all the worlds are undergoing maintenance. Anyone else experiencing it?

The servers are offline during the week. They go online on the weekends. Lucky you you don't have to wait to long. Be sure and check the beta forum for details regarding the schedule.

By the way guys. I'm sold. I've been playing the beta today on my 1.0 character, and just going through the story and boy, it is impressive!

Been messing around with the beta a bit on my old character. I can say that i'm definitely a lot happier with the battle system now that I have a lot more to utilize in battle. Game is definitely not perfect, they still have a ways to go on balancing of the battles themselves, stats, food, and jobs.

I'm confused as to why I can't unlock new classes with my legacy character. Do I have to reach some point in the story before it allows me to unlock new classes? I don't remember there being loopholes to jump through in the original FFXIV..

Also I wish the game informed us of the fact that our items (and more specifically, our mount whistles/horns) were at an NPC for us to pick up. I spent nearly 20 minutes trying to figure it out online, and then I spent the next 2 hours helping other confused players find their gear.
