Forums - Website Topics - Add more systems to the database

I know the people running this site are busy, but if any of you get a chance would it be too much to ask that you add some more systems to the game database?  For instance, I have 14 Intellivision games I own which I want to eventually add to the database but I have no way of marking a game as being for that system.  If I’m being an incredibly dense newbie and just missing something please tell me.

Even if you don’t have any too much data on them I still think it would be worth adding more systems when you get the chance.  In my mind systems such as the Atari 2600, Intellivision and other retro systems are a pieces of gaming history that shouldn’t be overlooked.

Anyways, thank for your time (to whoever bothers reading/considering this).

And the Sega Master System seeing as the NES is on there.

We should have every console in the game database no matter how old or bad they were.

Nintendo still doomed?

I have a feeling the new MD one may have meant to be MS [master system] after all D is near S on the keyboard.

@sherlock99, without making them up I don't think ioi will be able to get total software sales back far enough.
Japan I think he could just use all their historical data, America he has back to about 2004 I think,.. whether he can go further I don't know.
For Europe I am doubtful we will see much old data unless GFK/chart-track releases old stuff.

TWRoO, it's true ioi doesn't have much old data(that he can use anyways), but there are other ways of getting old data. I know Nintendo and Capcom release the lifetime sales data for their franchises here and there, so obviously some companies have data for their old games. As vgchartz grows, I'm sure some companies might supply ioi with historical data. If you really started digging, you could probably find old press releases and interviews that might give some sales data for specific games.

All I'm saying is: don't think that old data is a lost cause. :)

Yea, I want my Neo Geo Pocket in the Database.

and maybe my TI-99/4a? please?

I have an N-Gage... and still play it.

@quigontcb: That is true, but to be able to break it down into weekly sales would be monstrous.

If you check the million sellers list there are hundreds of games ioi clearly has data for, but without random guesswork weekly sales can't be parted from most games totals...... hopefully VGC gets respected enough to ask for old data from the companies who sold them, though this would for the most part only be shipment data.
